Cefazolin Sodium Salt is a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), enzymes involved in the final stages of peptidoglycan synthesis. This interference leads to structural instability and eventual cell lysis.
Effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria, particularly Gram-positive organisms.Can be used in microbiology research and studies focusing on antibacterial agents. Its inclusion in culture media can help selectively isolate bacteria that are susceptible to this antibiotic.
